Western Star Lodge #2

THE TRESTLE BOARD

FROM THE EAST:

Brethren:

As my year as your W.M. draws to a close, I look back over what has been accomplished and what still needs our attention. We have nearly completed our work in repainting the outer room and the preparation room, and eagerly await the promised painting of the Lodge Hall. I want to offer my thanks to all the officers for their hard work, and to the faithful members who make time to be with us nearly every Tuesday. Our outdoor activities have been well attended, and we have met as friends and brothers in the true Masonic way. It has been my great pleasure to serve the Lodge, and I pledge my support for the new regime.

May God continue to bless you and yours.

Richard H. Dixon, Jr.

Worshipful Master

From the Secretary:

I am distressed that so many of our brethren have not paid their dues for 2002. I don't know whether they have just decided that Masonry is not worth paying for, or have some other reason for not sending in their dues. I will read a list of names at the November Stated, and recommend the suspension for those who have not paid. The 2003 dues cards are in, and I will begin to mail them out in mid-November to those who have paid and the Perpetual Members on our roll.

We lost Paul R. McDonald to death on September 30. Paul had been living in a nursing home, but lived to receive his 50-year pin, of which he was very proud. Our altar will be draped in his honor at the Stated Meeting

Charles R. Shelton, Sec'y.
